Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has written to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah not to cut funding for schemes implemented during the BJP government.

In a letter written by Bommai in the state on Thursday, he initially congratulated Siddaramayan for taking oath as Chief Minister. For the last two weeks, you have held several meetings for the implementation of the five guarantees given by the Congress. It is known that a meeting was held with the officials of the Finance Department.

You told the people of the state that about 50,000 crore rupees are needed to implement all the guarantee schemes as stated by the government. During the implementation of these schemes, it is necessary to take some precautions and protect the interest of the important sectors of the state such as finance, education, health, women's development, infrastructure, farmers, downtrodden Dalits and backward classes. He said that people are hearing the word.

Don't cut funding for projects: It is not advisable to cut any funding as the interest-free short-term loan limit given to farmers has been increased from three lakhs to five lakhs. 1,500 crore has been provided in the budget for 2023-24 to increase the revolving fund under Farmers' Minimum Support Price Scheme to 3,500 crore, which is much needed. It should not be cut.

Construction of 7,601 school rooms under Viveka Yojana and total of 9,856 school rooms including other schemes is intended to be completed in the current year. The grant should not be cut in this.

It is very necessary to continue the Raitha Vidyanidhi program for farmers, labourers, fishermen, weavers etc. Bommayi has requested that adequate funds have been provided for this in the budget and this should be continued.

The free dialysis service has been extended to one lakh cycles, the chemotherapy cycles for cancer patients have been increased, and the plans to upgrade the PHCs to community health centers should not be stopped for any reason.

It has been said that SCP, TSP grants should not be cut for women empowerment scheme, nutrition programs for women and children, development of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

The construction work of hostels given to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes is in progress and the grant should not be cut. And ensuring that there is no shortage of funds for rural infrastructure projects such as Jaljeevan Mission, house construction, irrigation projects and panchayats, similarly the progress of construction of state and district roads should not be curtailed.

He said that providing finance for all the programs conducted in partnership with the central state is very necessary in the interest of the state.

Apart from this, rural infrastructure projects such as 'Jaljeevan Mission', housing construction, irrigation scheme, ensuring that there is no shortage of funds for Panchayats. Similarly, he said that the construction progress of state and district roads should not be curtailed and finance should be provided for all the programs in partnership with the central state.
